I received my doctoral degree in clinical psychology from Long Island  University, a PhD program fully accredited by the American Psychological Association.  The program, which is based on a scholar-practitioner model, is distinguished for its exemplary clinical education and training.

In addition to private practice, I am on the faculty of The Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York and am the director of a gay affirmative psychology service at the Mount Sinai Comprehensive Health Program.  I work with a diverse range of clients and have the responsibility of monitoring the quality of counseling interventions, supervising other mental health professionals and volunteers, and conducting individual, couple and group level interventions.

I am also presently an Assistant Professor of Psychology at Long Island University, Brooklyn where I wrote my doctoral dissertation in clinical psychology on HIV prevention with gay and bisexual men.

I worked previously as a therapist with international survivors of torture at Bellevue Hospital and completed my doctoral psychology internship at North Shore-LIJ Hospital in Long Island.  My clinical experience includes the application of interpersonal psychology, cognitive-behavioral interventions, health psychology, psychodynamic interventions, and empirically supported treatments.  I also have extensive training in formal psychological assessment, including intelligence and personality testing.
